You've got a story to tell . . . It's time to tell it.
Your path in life has brought you to this place. You have many things to share with others. In fact, it's why you were born. The Lord told us to go into all the world, to preach and teach all we learned. He also told us to write it down, and make it plain. The best way to pass along invaluable information is to make a permanent record of it. The Hebrew scribes of Antiquity knew how important recordation was. They knew it would bring spiritual waters of refreshing to future generations. Think of it. Everything we know about the Lord came from the writings of others.
And now, it's your turn.
My sister and I were terrified of motherhood.
Then we got prayer. Now we just laugh about it.
QUESTION ... Why should your story never be told? Should we really "take things to the grave"?
Suppose you were to leave it behind for someone else to learn? You have the ability to be the Professor of Life Lessons!

Things never seen before.
There once was a pastor who appeared on TBN, and he said the most profound thing. He said, "Spending time with the Lord means that He will show you things that were never seen before by anyone else on Earth!" How true that is. In fact, that's exactly what happened to one of our young writers. He is now working on his first book and will soon share with the world forensic evidence about the Book of Job that will forever change our understanding of this very controversial event. His book is quite riveting, and we are honored to publish his work.

Writing a book is easy!
Many people are very intimidated about the writing process. They say, "I'm a terrible speller ... I don't know where to start ... "
Well, that's why our editors and designers are going to keep you together. The writing process is easier than you think. First, try to decide what "genre" of book you're going to write. Is it your life story? A fictional novel? What about a self-help or how-to guide? Now give your book a name. Yep, that's right ... name it before you start it.
"Now faith is ... the evidence of things unseen." Hebrews 11:1
I used to be a Wall Street shark.
Then the Lord gave me Mai Ling.

Just create a simple Chapter Tree ... then fill in the blanks!
You'll be amazed how quickly your book will "materialize" when you Name It By Faith. Then, write a very simple, uncomplicated Chapter Tree. For instance, let's say you're going to write your life story. Your Chapter Tree might look something like this:About My Ancestors
Then I Was Born
Growing Up in Our House
The Destructive Path of Life I Ended Up On
The Triumphs and Tragedies
Then I Collided With Christ
Everything Changed After That
What I Learned From His Redemption
Where I Am Today
And Now I Have This Work To Do
Don't look now, but you just finished your first Chapter Tree!
Sometimes, your worst stories ... speak the best to people!
Now that you've got your Chapter Tree ready ... here comes the fun part ... Give your book and chapters great, catchy titles. For instance:
Boring Title: My Life As A Christian
Best Seller: Prisoner To Professor. The Vanessa Johnson Story.
Try to always see yourself as 'epic' ... as though expecting to be interviewed by CNN.
But I don't want to be a prophet!

But I don't want to be a prophet!
Now let's work on your chapter titles ...
_Chapter titles should be catchy, fun and creative. Below are some examples of plain, uninviting titles and what fun possibilities you can turn them into:
Plain Chapter Titles: Really Catchy Titles:
About My Ancestors The Pizza Makers ... 1902
When I Was Born One Rainy Tuesday
Growing Up In Our House Room Service ... For Ten
Fun, right? You'll be amazed how quickly the 'evidence' of your book will materialize, once you get your title and Chapter Tree outlined. And now ... simply fill in the chapters ... one at a time ... take it nice and easy ... give yourself 14 days per chapter. And don't worry about the page count. Your book doesn't have to be 500 pages long! (Most consumers prefer short, riveting stories, anyway.) It can be only 50 pages. There are plenty of ways to lengthen a book. We can use larger fonts ... thicker side-margins ... and 1.5 line spacing ... quote-pages ... and subtle artwork. (A quote page features an important quote, scripture or point all by itself on a single page ... very effective, if you're working on a teaching series.) Those tricks alone will increase a 50 page manuscript into a 150 page book!

Here are some other helpful tips, from one writer to another:
Pen & Note Pad:
As you write your story, try to keep note pads in easy-to-reach, conspicuous places where you know you'll begin to hear from the Lord. You might want to keep note pads next to your bed, in your hand bag, your car, and work-desk. Whenever important points come to mind and you don't have time to write it all out ... jot down quick key points. You'll find that ideas can quickly disappear, if we don't harness them. Short key words will bring it all back to your memory later, when you have more time to write it out.
One Chapter at a Time:
As you write your chapters, try to concentrate on just one at a time. Try to forget about the other chapters, till their time comes (although quick key notes on other chapters are encouraged). Concentrating on one chapter at a time, will help to keep your thinking clear and produce a clean, well-structured chapter product. And don't worry about mistakes. That's what your editor is there for. Just take a deep breath and tell yourself ... "One chapter at a time".
Make Good Use of Your Editor:
You'll be assigned an editor who will guide you throughout the entire process. Be sure to send each chapter to your editor as soon as you complete it. Let your editor know also when you've hit a writer's block. (Happens to all of us. ) You'll be amazed at how QUICKLY our team can break down that writer's block and set you back on the path toward success.
